The photo below was taken by my wife. It shows a Messor barbarus worker doing a spot of weeding, as she tries to remove a germinated seedling from the nest entrance. This ant belongs to my largest colony.

I have placed some photos on my ant species profiles pages 1 & 2. Not all species profiles have them however, as you can see most of these ants on other pages of this site.
My apologies if anyone finds I used one of their photos and have not credited them. If you do happen to see one of your photos being used, and can prove it belongs to you, then I am only too happy to give you the credit you so rightly deserve. Alternatively I will remove any copyrighted photos if the owner so wishes. As I have stated before, it is not, or ever was my intention to borrow or steal other peoples work or material.
A new page called Ant Gallery 2 has been added for 2010. This is an extension to the old photo gallery, as I love to share nice ant photos with you all. Two new stories about red ants have been added on my Ant Stories 3 page
Ant Hill Wood has been updated with new information on the 27th of February, 2010.
As many of you know, I try to place pictures on my Ant Tales of ants suitable as a match for those stories. I am looking for anyone who does cartoon images or coloured drawings of ants who would like to have a few of their images placed on my story pages.
The credit will of course be given to each person who sends me any images, if they so desire; and if you do not wish to use your proper name, then you can use an alias. So please do get in touch if you think you can help?
I am thinking of creating more stories about ants for young children, and would like to have your ideas about what might make a good subject for a story? For example, what kind of ants would you like your children or younger brothers and sisters to learn about, keeping the content nice and simple so that young minds can absorb it easily.
Please send any ideas you may have to} woodant77@aol.com where I will try to make them into a suitable story. If your story is added to this site, your name will be credited for the idea if you so wish. Let me know your name if you'd like this to happen, and either the country, or town/city where you live.
Any ant species and other insects can be used, and if you know a bit about them and their habits, it would be great to add such information into any story that is made up.
