Ant Hill Wood

The ant species involved in the videos provided are as follows} Formica rufa (Red Wood Ants), Lasius flavus (Yellow Meadow Ants), Lasius niger (Common Black Garden Ants), Messor barbarus (European Harvester Ants), Formica lusatica (none British, but is a European ant specie) and another of my favourite ants, Camponotus ligniperda (a large European ant which belongs to the Carpenter Ants).

All the ants filmed are from wild nests found in Southern England, with the exception of the Messor barbarus, Formica lusatica and the Camponotus ligniperda; which are all captive colonies which I keep myself. The Lasius niger were filmed right in my own garden, while the Formica rufa, Lasius flavus and Myrmica rubra were filmed on location in the countryside of West Sussex in England. To save placing links to each video individually, they are all together; and any future ant videos will also be found via this link. I hope you enjoy my videos, as most are about ants; and even the odd ones that are not may still give pleasure to those who watch them.
